FAQ

Questions practices ask us first.

What US healthcare practices want to know before starting a pilot with Ostven.

How does overnight medical scribing work?

You send us your day's visit audio, however your practice already records it. A dedicated scribe assigned to your practice drafts a structured, SOAP-formatted note overnight. It's in your queue by 7:00 AM your time, ready to review and sign.

Is this HIPAA-compliant?

We offer a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) before you even ask, along with encrypted transfer and least-privilege access controls. Every scribe is trained on HIPAA-aligned handling as a baseline requirement, not an add-on.

Who's responsible for the note, you or my provider?

The scribe produces a draft only. Your provider reviews it, edits anything they like, and signs off inside your own EHR before it becomes part of the chart. Clinical responsibility stays with the provider at every step.

Will this work with my EHR?

Yes. Notes are formatted to match your specific EHR and specialty templates. No new hardware or software required on your end. You send audio the way you already do.

Do you do real-time or in-room scribing?

No. Ostven is overnight, asynchronous turnaround, not live documentation during the visit. If your practice needs a scribe present in real time, this isn't the right fit yet.

How do I try it?

Send your next five visit recordings. You'll get finished SOAP notes back by 7 AM. No commitment, no setup cost. If it doesn't save you real time, you've lost nothing.
